Thursday 30 August : Baalbeck Baalbeck, Lebanon’s greatest Roman treasure, can be counted among the wonders of the ancient world The largest and most noble Roman temples ever built, they are also among the best preserved.Towering high above the Beqaa plain, their monumental proportions proclaimed the power and wealth of Imperial Rome. The gods worshipped here, the Triad of Jupiter, Venus and Mercury, were grafted onto the indigenous deities of Hadad + Cedars, The  cedars trees are first mentioned in the Epic of Gilgamesh; The Cedars of God are mentioned as a divine, shady forest fought over by the demi-gods and the humans. It is said that the expanse was once protected by Mesopotamian Gods and that Gilgamesh himself used cedar wood to build his great city. The Phoenicians used it to build their ships, Egyptians to make paper, and other civilizations like the Romans and Turks exploited the natural treasure for trade. The trees also hold significant religious importance, as they are mentioned in the Bible on several occasions: Solomon used their wood to build Jerusalem and Emperor Hadrian ruled them as royal domains which stopped their destruction


Next will be Bchare including Gibran Museum. When prominent Lebanese poet, artist and philosopher Khalil Gibran died in 1931and his tomb next to monastry.houses a museum dedicated to Gibran. Besides Gibran’s tomb, the museum collection includes 440 of his original paintings and drawings, as well as private manuscripts and personal belongings from his time living in New York.

30 Aug 18: Arrival QAI Airport (07H00) – Mt. Nebo – Bethany – Tell Ilat Ghassul – lot’s cave – Beida – Petra

Welcome to Jordan! Today your sense of reality ends as you enter a world of dreams. Our airport staff  will meet and assist you at Queen Alia International Airport in Amman for the arrival formalities. Transfer to Mt. Nebo, the alleged burial site of Moses overlooking the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea. Here Franciscans have built a structure that protects a 4th and 6th Century Byzantine church, then continue to the site of Bethany the place where Jesus Christ was  baptized by john the Baptist.


Bethany: The area opposite Jericho has been identified for nearly two millennia as the area where Jesus Christ was baptized by John the Baptist in a settlement called ‘Bethany beyond the Jordan’ (John 1; 28). from there you can admire the beauty of this area opposite to Jericho and also you can visit there tell Mar Elias, Tell Mar Elias is reminiscent of the Prophet Elijah, The Bible recounts that Elijah parted the waters of the Jordan River and walked across it with his anointed successor, the Prophet Elisha, then ascended to heaven in a whirlwind on a chariot of fire (2kings 2; 5-14). The small hill from which Elijah ascended to heaven has been known for centuries as Elijah’s Hill, and forms the core of this settlement at Bethany in Jordan. Continue to Lot’s Cave, just past the Lisan Peninsula, is where he and his daughters apparently lived after fleeing the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. The cave, a 10-minute climb up a steep flight of steps, is surrounded by the ruins of a small Byzantine church (5th to 8th centuries), a reservoir and some mosaics. Remains from the cave date to the early Bronze Age (3300–2000 BC) and an inscription in the cave mentions Lot by name. proceed to little Petra “Beidah” is a 8,000-year-old excavated stone age village, that offers an opportunity for the clients to wander and climb around to discover it. 31 Aug 18: Petra full day visit – Wadi Rum

After Breakfast, start a full day tour to Petra, the soul-stirring, rose-red city is considered the Jordanian national treasure and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  Petra was an ancient Nabataean capital and was settled by these industrious Arab traders more than 2,000 years ago.  Petra’s unique location enabled the Nabataeans to dominate the ancient Arabian trade routes, and the city became wealthy from the tolls it levied on the caravans that sheltered there with their precious cargoes of spices, silks, ivory and animal hides.


Petra still forms part of the domain of the Bedouin, and you will see them with their horses and camels as you begin your unforgettable trip into this cultural landmark. After passing tombs outside the city, you come to the “Siq”, an immense crack in the Nubian sandstone almost one half mile long.  This winding fissure separates overhanging cliffs that appear to meet 300 feet overhead. Near the end of the passage, the Siq makes one last turn with great style, and out of the gloom Petra’s most impressive monument Al Khazneh (The Treasury) appears in the towering brightness. One of the most elegant remains of antiquity, out of the, Al Khazneh is nearly 140 feet high and was carved from the mountain’s solid rock in the First Century B.C. Originally used as a Manatee king’s tomb, scholars believe Al Khazneh was later used as Nabataean temple. Film buffs will recognize it from its starring role in the final scenes of the movie “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.” After the visit walk back to the main gate of Petra and transfer to Wadi Rum for dinner and overnight at your Bedouin camp

After Breakfast, start the tour of sensational desert of Wadi Rum. Wadi Rum boasts one of the most spectacular desert landscapes in the world with rolling sand dunes and mountains of sandstone. Its mystery and charm are sure to captivate you, as it has so many visitors before, including the famous T.E. Lawrence. Some famous movies were filmed there, including Lawrence of Arabia, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, and the Return of the Pink Panther.


Allow the local Bedouins to take you by their (4×4) jeeps to the heart of the Red desert of Wadi Rum. Discover clues from antiquity carved on the mountains and the fallen boulder, vestiges of human activity over several thousand years. Everywhere there are traces left by ancient civilizations – pictographs of Thamudic, Nabataean, Greek and Arabic texts, formal inscriptions and rock art depicting hunting scenes. Transfer to Aqaba to enjoy the swimming at the Red sea’s beach. Dinner and overnight at your hotel in Aqaba

02 Sep 18: Aqaba – Amman city tour + shopping & dinner – Transfer to QAI Airport (02H25)

After breakfast, you will depart to Amman for city tour the capital of the Hashemite Kingdom is often referred to as the “White City” because of the white lime stone used in the construction of many of the city’s buildings. The city’s heart is downtown and dates back to Biblical and Roman times, although the majority of the current city was constructed post 1940 as Amman lay uninhabited for over 1,000 years following an earthquake in 749AD. The view from the Citadel over the downtown area and Roman theatre is magical as you stand among Roman and biblical temples along with Ummayad built villas. A tour of the ancient sites of Amman is juxtaposed to its more modern and commercial center.


A tour of Amman would be incomplete without strolling through its crowded streets so you can soak in the atmosphere in the downtown souk and market area around the Husseini Mosque.


Dinner will be served tonight at Kan Zaman village, this is a classic Arabic place. The restaurant is located on a hill. Used to be an old horse ranch, now it has classical Arabic music and waiters dressed in traditional clothing serving very typical Arabic snacks, baked goods, and other authentic cuisine, It is very popular with tourists who want to see a typical Middle Eastern setting, as it decorated with various rugs, wall tapestries, and bronze decorations.


After that, you will be transferred to Queen Alia International Airport for your departure back home. Our staff will assist you through departure formalities.
